Street Music in Istanbul

Merhaba,

My name is Justas. I live in Istanbul and I'm a student here, but I also play guitar.

I have seen people play in metro stations, ferries, outside in Eminönü, Kadıköy... And I would like to try as well with an eletric guitar and an amp.

Does anyone know if I need to ask for a permit from the government or you can just go and play? Are there any regulations on how loud can you play?

I would appreciate any help that I could get.

Yes you definitely need a permit. But before that you need to be eligible to be a street musician via an audition.
