"MH is the same body shape as the Mirage, but has a carved top instead of flat like the Mirage. Making it feel thinner than an M model. They’re both 1.65-1.75” at their thickest if I remember. But due to the carved top of the MH it tapers around the edge of the body so feel and technically on average is thinner.
Body wood:
MH are usually made of Mahogany
M is usually Alder
MH is sometimes Set-neck, neck-thru, or bolt on, and M is either bolt on or neck-thru.
The neck wood is always maple and usually 3 piece for anything set-neck or neck-thru on the MH or neck-thru on the M. Bolt on for either guitar can be 3 piece of 1 piece maple neck.
If it’s a neck-thru then it’s maple the whole way with alder or mahogany wings glued on the side to finish the body, and a maple cap for anything figured like that blue one. That goes for both guitar models. Mahogany wings is just for the MH though.
Their weight varies a lot due to body wood and neck type, that’s why neck-thru guitars get Alder wings or mahogany wings (with carved top) to reduce weight, I assume.
Different nut width
MH is the 1000 series R2 which is 41.3mm wide, 6.35mm string spacing and 10” radius.
M is the 1000 series R3 which is 42.85mm wide, 6.60mm string spacing and 12” radius.
The M-1000 strings will be further apart individually and also sit further away from the edge of the fretboard as well due to the nut being wider the fretboard must get wider as well.
Neck profile
Both are Extra Thin U but due to the nut width may feel slightly different.
Both are 300-400mm compound radius so 11.8” to 15.75” radius like a Jackson."
